Family Camp
June 24th-29th
This is an opportunity for your family here at Briarwood. Family camp gives your group the opportunity to come spend a week with us participating in all of the activities we offer while growing in faith and building a spiritual bond with one another. You can choose to stay in one of our hotel style rooms, one of our cabins, or even tent camp during your stay. Meals will be provided in our Dining Hall. Family camp can include Moms, Dads, Kids, Grandparents, Grandchildren, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and friends, so bring the whole gang for this exciting vacation.
Family camp will run in conjunction with our on-site day camp program. Each day, from 9am till 5pm, Briarwood staff and counselors will provide activities and programs directed at youth ages 4-10, older youth in your family can participate in our JC (junior counselor) program during their stay. There is family free time from 5pm until Dinner, and an evening program each night. Activities will include games, singing, trail hikes, crafts, Bible study, BBQs, worship services, archery, swimming, campfires and more. Parents may choose to participate in the program activities during the day or spend the time leisurely enjoying the Briarwood facilities. Family camp can be the full or a partial week stay.
Cost is dependant on lodging and number of participants and fee breakdowns are shown on the family camp registration form.
Day Camp
Recommended for ages 4 – 10
June 25th-29th
A wonderful opportunity for children living in the area is Day Camp. This camp takes place Monday through Friday here at Briarwood. Daily registration starts at 8:45 am and programs begin at 9am and run until 5:00 each afternoon. Participants spend the day with Briarwood counselors learning how to have fun while being a Christian kid. Lunch and snacks will be provided. Activities will include games, nature hikes, art projects, Bible study, skits, singing, playground time, water carnival, special guests, and much, much more.

Young’ns –Half Week
Completed 1st – 3rd grade
June 24th-27th (A), June 27th-29th (B), July 22nd-25th (C), July 25th-27th (D)
This program is designed to introduce young campers to the joy of Christian camping here at Briarwood. Our goal with the Young’ns is to help them grow spiritually, gain confidence, and develop socially as they work, play, and live in small groups of peers. During their stay these Young’ns will get a chance to experience much of what Briarwood has to offer.
This is a half week program and depending on which session is chosen the Young’ns will either stay two or three nights. For many this will be the first time staying away from home and family so we take extra steps to make them feel comfortable, safe, and having a good time.
Cost – $180 (including T-Shirt and “Cuppie”)
Young’ns –Full Week
Completed 1st – 3rd grade
June 24th-29th (E) or July 22nd-27th (F)
If your little camper is up to the challenge we will accept full week Young’ns, these campers would arrive on Sunday afternoon and stay until Friday evening. They would enjoy a double dose of all of the fun activities that the half week Young’ns do. This is not recommended for a first time camper!

Yearlings
Completed 4th – 6th grade
June 17th-22nd, July 8th- 13th, July 22nd-27th
This group comes to Briarwood for a full week of camp. Our goal with Yearlings is to further their social skills, help them with their faith formation, and give them a taste of leadership and decision making. During their week at Briarwood campers will be given the opportunity to express their faith through singing, Worship and Bible Study. Lots of fun activities throughout their week will include campfires, games, swimming, archery, crafts, hiking, and much, much more.

Adventurers
Completed 6th – 8th grade
June 17th-22nd, July 8th- 13th, July 29th- August 3rd
These youth come to Briarwood for a full week of camp. These campers are at an age when they want to accept bigger challenges and have bigger adventures and we want to provide for both. Our goals with the Adventurers include helping them make good decisions, be a leader in their group, and solidify their relationship with the Lord.
Adventurers will be given the opportunity to express their faith through song, Worship, and Bible Studies. Adventurers participate in many of Briarwood’s great activities including campfires, games, swimming, archery, crafts, hiking, and they will be given the opportunity to take a canoe float trip and do some trail biking during their stay.

Confirmation Camp
Age Requirement Determined by Pastor/Congregation
June 17th-22nd, July 8th- 13th, July 29th- August 3rd
This year at Briarwood we are offering multiple sessions that a congregation may choose from if they wish to bring their confirmation group out for a week of camp. This program is designed for the group to come to camp along with a Pastor or confirmation instructor. While at camp, instructors and students alike will study the Bible and learn God’s word in an outdoor setting. The program will have an hour block of time set aside during each day specifically for confirmation instruction and time for an evening devotional with your church group as well. We will strive to be flexible for any group that wants to follow their own plan. Leaders may still choose to combine their time with another church or meet solely with their own class. Confirmation camp will be run in conjunction with our Adventurer’s program and participants will still enjoy many of their favorite camp activities.

Explorers
Completed 9th -12th grade
June 17th-22nd, July 29th- August 3rd
This is a week long camp for young adults. The Explorer program is designed to allow young Christians a chance to come together for fun, fellowship, and faith. Our goal is to give participants a chance to enjoy being themselves without all of the pressure that everyday life brings their way. Explorers are given many chances to express and build their faith during their stay through Bible studies, Worships, singing, and devotions.
As the name implies, this group will go out to seek some adventure. During their stay the Explorers will climb up walls, canoe down river, ride our bike trail, and enjoy all the fun activities that Briarwood has to offer.
Cost – $395 (including T-Shirt and “Cuppie”)
Lutheran Youth Leadership Experience (LYLE )
Completed 10th – 12th grade
June 17th-22nd or July 22nd – August 3rd
For 2012 the LYLE 1 and 2 programs have been combined and both new and returning LYLE’s are welcome to attend during either session. This is in response to the National Youth Gathering and we don’t want to force our campers to choose between LYLE and the NYG.
This is a two week camp experience for young adults. The LYLE journey is a faith and leadership development program that combines leadership skills, service, individual gifts and experiences. The program prepares young adults to stand as leaders not only in their own congregations but also in the community, family, and in their own lives. LYLE can spiritually energize its participants to help them face the challenges that high school or college bound campers are going to encounter during their year.
These LYLEs will have the chance to express themselves and their faith through worship, music, Bible study, devotions, and prayer. LYLEs will have plenty of fun too with biking, canoeing, climbing, and all that Briarwood has to offer. Goals include growing in leadership, strengthening the decision making process, and building their personal relationship with Christ.
LYLE programs cost $510 for the two weeks (includes T-shirt and “Cuppie”)
Guitar Camp
July 8th- 13th
Completed 4th – 9th grade
Guitar camp is a week for those that wish to come learn or improve upon their guitar playing skills. This session will include all of the normal camp activities and will also include time devoted during each day for the participants to work with some of our counselors on improving their guitar skills and learning some of our camp songs. The group will have the opportunity to display their new skills for their peers while participating in sing-a-longs and worship sessions. Open to any skill level but please keep in mind that our counselors are not professional instructors and that some previous experience will go a long way.

A new offering for the summer of 2012
Horse Camp
July 22nd-27th
Completed 4th – 9th grade
Calling all cowboys and cowgirls. This year at Briarwood we are offering a new opportunity called Horse Camp. Horse camp will take its participants off-site each morning for a two hour session at a local stable. During this time the stables highly qualified instructors will teach the group all about horses. The sessions will include safety, tack, grooming, care, and of course riding. After there session at the stables these campers will be brought back to Briarwood for lunch and an afternoon of great activities.
In addition to the horses these Briarwood campers will be given the opportunity to express their faith through singing, Worship and Bible Study. Lots of fun activities throughout their week will include campfires, games, swimming, archery, crafts, hiking, and much, much more.
